Description:
As a franchisee of Student Works Painting, I am looking for motivated, hard-working, committed post-secondary school students to work full-time during the months of May to August as painters for both interior and exterior paint jobs. Paid by piecework based on estimated number of hours (at the rate of approximately $11.50 per hour). Insurance, worker's compensation, and benefits offered. Paint jobs done almost exclusively in the Lorne Park area of Mississauga. Average week is 8-10 hours in a day, 5 days per week (weekends off if good weather during the week). Potential for more hours and therefore more pay. Note: All painters are expected to be marketers as well. This involves dropping flyers at homes surrounding paint sites and going door-to-door to ask for free estimates. Painters must get at least 5 leads (people agreeing to an estimate) prior to painting and 3 leads per week once painting commences. $10 per lead. Incentives offered for person with most leads. Training for both painting and marketing provided and mandatory. Requirements: 1.Ability to quickly learn new skills. 2.Strong communication skills and politeness. 3.Being a team player. 4.Painting experience strongly recommended but not required. If no painting experience, some experience working outdoors or doing manual labour. 5.Attention to detail. 6.Punctuality. 7.Transportation to and from job sites; for an extra 50 cents an hour, a car with roof racks to transport equipment to and from job sites. 8.Full-time access to a watch and cell phone. 9.Comfortable working on ladders; no fear of heights.
