Description:
The High Level Community Policing Society is a non-profit organization that promotes and provides community services and programs with the ultimate goal of working towards community safety and security. The Society governs five ongoing community programs which include: Victim Support Unit, Block Parent Program, Citizens on Patrol (C.O.P.), Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) and the newly formed Domestic Violence Response Unit (DVRunit). This position is 100% funded though the Safe Community Innovation Fund, for a total of 3 years with possibility of renewal. The DVR Unit is a response to the high domestic violence in the area, and was developed to ultimately break the cycle of violence. The successful applicant will work within a unit of five other professionals in a collaborative approach to address the effects of domestic violence on both the individual victims and on the community of High Level and surrounding areas.
