| HR Director Position: HR Director Reference: 801901/WS Company: FormaShape Location: Kelowna To Start: As soon as possible General: The HR Director at FormaShape will play an important role as part of the Executive Team in helping the acceleration of the company to be the best at what it does, and be on the leading edge with innovative human resources practices. The successful candidate will use their HR experience in implementing HR policies that reflect "Best Practices", as well as their skills in the area of Labour Relations, to change the culture of this fast-paced organization. With a focus on sustaining a high-performing company through the hiring, training and retention of exceptional employees, the HR Director will be able to 'think-outside-the-box' and be hands-on in implementing their own ideas to create a positive culture for all employees. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Essential: * Knowledge of current HR and Labour Relations practices * Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point * Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills * Demonstrated ability to implement HR policies that reflect ‘best practices’ * Effective negotiations skills * Demonstrated knowledge of employment related legislation * Strong PC/technology skills and aptitude * Demonstrated effective leadership skills * Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a fast paced environment * Excellent investigative and problem solving skills * Demonstrated planning skills Desirable: * Knowledge of the fibreglass industry * Knowledge of various types of benefits/compensation plans Experience: Essential: * Prior experience as a human resources generalist with specialist experience in recruitment, training and development [ten – fifteen years] * Experience within a unionized environment * Prior experience in a leadership position * Experience in the collective bargaining process Desirable: * Direct experience in a manufacturing environment * Direct experience in a Lean manufacturing environment * Prior experience as a payroll/benefits coordinator Qualifications: Essential: * Post secondary education in Human Resource Management * Training in the various pieces of employment legislation such as Employment Standards, Labour Relations Code, Human Rights Act, WCB, Privacy legislation * Leadership training Desirable: * CHRP * Degree in HRM Psychology or a related field * Certificate in Human Resource Administration * Certified Recruitment Specialist Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
