| Commercial Glazier Manager Kruse Glass & Aluminum is seeking a journeyman level glazier to assist in the construction, maintenance, planning, layout, and repair of glass and related products with relation to their Commercial Division. If you enjoy variety and developing special skills while achieving pride in your accomplishments, we’d like to speak with you! Your responsibilities will include: - Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine the materials required, location of framing, and procedures for installation. - Measure openings for size and shape, mark and cut glass panels to fit, secure the panels in place, weatherproof joints, and assemble and install aluminum window parts. - Install, fit, fabricate, and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and the occasional residential buildings. - Assemble parts of pre-fabricated glass units such as revolving doors, display cases, plate glass, shower doors, storefronts, automatic doors, skylights, sloped glazing, curtain walls, barrel vaults, solariums, and other support structures. - Install and maintain pre-fabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products on walls, ceilings, fronts of buildings, handrails, and walkways - Assume supervisory and training responsibilities for those employees assigned to your department. - Working in a variety of environments including outdoors at construction sites (sometimes on scaffolds and swing-stages) and indoor applications. Skills and Abilities Required: - 3-5 years previous training and work experience related to the Glazier trade; preference will be given to those possessing a related journeyman certificate. - Familiarity with the installation of automatic door openers would be an asset. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Physical strength and stamina required to work with heavy glass materials - Ability to work at heights - Good eyesight to measure, cut, and see flaws in glass - Manual dexterity - Some mathematical ability - Computer skills are an asset - Possess ability to work alone or with a team. - Supervisory experience an asset. This position is based in Swift Current, SK. This is an above-average salaried position (overtime eligible) offering a full benefit package including life, dental, and disability coverage.
