| Construction Project Director - Calgary 139un1002 WE REPRESENT SOME OF WESTERN CANADA’S LARGEST & MID-SIZE GENERAL CONTRACTORS IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR a Construction PROJECT DIRECTOR in EDMONTON. Competitive Salary and Benefits Package!!! We are working with a dominant and progressive player within the General Contracting Industry. Our client has been around since the early 1900’s. Striving to protect the environment on every job our client provides a wide range of construction management and general contracting services to local private and public sector clients in the commercial, light industrial and institutional sectors. Our client offers its employees the chance to be a part of some of the most exciting and challenging projects. Reporting to the Divisional Vice President, this position requires a mature, experienced commercial Project Director possessing well-developed people and project management skills and sound business judgment. He/she has a demonstrable record of success on large-scale projects ($100M-$250M+) together with strong leadership and management skills and effective decision-making capabilities. Responsibilities: • Develop, manage and maintain new and existing client, consultant and trade relationships • Actively pursue and obtain new projects that fit branch marketing plan • Lead the development of a project strategy that meets the project’s required performance, schedule and profitability targets. Ensure these targets are met or exceeded • Ensure that the preconstruction services and construction delivery are of high standard and meet the needs of all stakeholders • Confirm that estimate/cost plan incorporates value for the owner, accommodates the consultant’s design intent and the targeted profitability • Conduct the negotiation, and oversee the preparation and execution of the prime contract • Exhibit the values of: leadership, innovation, relationships, and profitability and meet all stakeholder commitments as outlined in our Blueprint • Conduct monthly “work in progress” (WIP) reviews with the project team to ensure schedule, quality and targeted gross profit margin will be met and positive relationships exist with all stakeholders. Ensure project team identifies, addresses, and resolves issues/problems to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. • Ensure project health, safety and environmental standards meet or exceed legislated requirements and company policy • Coach and mentor project team members to ensure effective project delivery and personal career development Experience: • The successful candidate will be a university graduate in engineering or construction management. • He/she will have a minimum of 8 years of “hands-on” experience in the capacity of project manager supplemented by other aspects of construction management including cost estimating. This experience should include direct project management of large commercial, high rise, and/or institutional construction projects $100M-$250M and greater. Essential skill requirements include: • Planning and budgeting, estimating, contract management, project administration, and decision-making and creative problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and leadership abilities along with a strong team orientation.
