JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the President, the Director of Sales & Marketing will play a key role in the growth of the Company’s revenues and profitability through positive planning, direction and management of sales personnel and interaction with customers and prospects. This Senior Executive position will focus on managing growth and executing marketing, sales and product development functions for the Company. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. In conjunction with the President, develops and implements a strategic plan for growth. 2. Develops and manages the sales plan, ensuring it meets the organization’s sales goals and objectives. 3. Defines measurable expectations of each role within the sales function, evaluates performance against expectations and provides positive leadership. Takes corrective actions when necessary to improve sales efforts. 4. Develops training programs for sales staff ensuring representatives are up to speed with products, services and company standards. Monitors and follows up with staff and their customers. 5. Manages key national accounts, interacting with customers and prospects positively and with added value. 6. Identifies new distribution channel opportunities and monitors existing channels. 7. Develops customized sales programs for various market sectors. 8. Reports financial results on sales budget, customer attitudes and trends and market share data to management. 9. Participates in the planning, logistics and attendance of trade shows as well as other PR activities for the company. 10. Develops corporate marketing initiatives and ensures that programs are implemented properly to maximize results. 11. Other duties as may be assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES: • A track record of sales and marketing accomplishments in an importing/distributor organization, ideally selling to retailers and/or the hospitality industry. • Proven ability to organize, motivate and direct people and processes. • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. • Excellent negotiation and “closing” skills. • A natural leader, who brings a positive, can do attitude to the workplace and who is driven to succeed. • A fun and engaging personality who appreciates the social responsibility and family oriented culture of the organization. • A team player whose enthusiasm and dedication to the company is an example which the entire team wants to follow. | |
