The Divisional Ventilation Specialist, Mines will ensure ventilation planning is complete and that adequate ventilation is provided to active workplaces as efficiently and economically as possible within company standards and government regulations. The Ventilation Specialist will also oversee long term division ventilation needs including the maintenance of Vnet ventilation model, divisional ventilation hardware requirements training of junior ventilation technicians and major mining project support. Position Requirements: • Understanding of underground Mine Ventilation specifics • Knowledge of mine process • Practical knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health Act and other legislated regulations • Practical knowledge of mine ventilation fan service • Practical knowledge of vent monitoring equipment • Practical knowledge of ventilation automation • Practical knowledge of seasonal affects to mine air • Practical knowledge of heat stress evaluation • Knowledge of gases & dust present or generated underground • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office/AutoCad/Outlook/VNet) • Good organizational skills for planning and task execution. This includes analytical and decision making skills • Excellent communication skills including written, oral, and demonstrative • Effective time management Educational/Experience Requirements: • 5+ yrs experience in underground ventilation • Technical Diploma in Ventilation and/or Mining At Vale Inco, we are looking for candidates who meet a specific and unique skill set.
