| 1st or 2nd level Carpentry Apprentice We are STEP Vancouver Island – Skilled Trades Employment Program – an initiative of the British Columbia Construction Association. STEP was established to work with individuals who are either currently working in some capacity within one of the 140 recognized skilled trades of BC and those who wish to develop their careers in the skilled trades. We also work closely with the companies of BC, in particular Vancouver Island to help them acquire the career minded talent they are seeking along with assisting them in building a sustainable business. On behalf of a client of ours in the Mill Bay region of Vancouver Island we are seeking a dedicated and focused individual with a keen interest in pursuing a career in the trade of Carpentry. The individual must meet the following criteria: 1) Have a strong track record of punctuality, dedication, consistent work history 2) Be registered either as a first or second year Carpentry Apprentice 3) Prepared to demonstrate how they have accomplished tasks both working alone and within a team 4) Have their own transportation and a clean driving record 5) Hold a desire to learn and further their certification in the Carpentry trade 6) Have begun collecting some of their own Carpentry tools The individual selected will have the opportunity to gain in-depth experience working alongside a seasoned journeyman Carpenter completing a foundation to finish custom home. The candidate will need to be willing to dedicate themselves to this role, the company and to learning the trade. This is not a position for someone who does not enjoy working in a very small team, being completely accountable for their work and who will be challenged to excel at the top of their performance level.
