| Development Manager Development Manager (Position reference #DEV005) The Pitch eMedia builds engaging search & community sites like Restaurantica and GolfCourses. We’re currently located in the south end of Guelph, but we’ll be relocating to the Kitchener/Waterloo area in early June 2008. The Position At eMedia, a Development Manager has the killer skills required to: - Inspire, motivate, instruct and lead (by example), a department of talented software developers - Constantly deliver and refine innovative software products - Architect , code and deliver the best possible solutions in the least amount of time - Evolve his/her insight about the business and the industry and drive the creation of the best software applications in the world - Engage his/her talented eMedia peers in the creation of things like business and project plans, product road maps, user stories, requirements, software documentation, and much more. Required Skills / Qualifications: • 8+ years professional experience in software development positions • 4+ years of professional experience in all of the following tools/technologies: ASP.NET/C#, .NET/C#, SQL Server and T-SQL, and XML/XSL • Deep understanding of web-based development • Deep understanding of latest Microsoft tools and technologies • Excellent command of written and spoken English • Excellent organizational, leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills • Practical experience in Agile development methodologies, especially Scrum • Broad knowledge of software analysis and design techniques and tools like User Stories, Requirements, UML, Patterns, OOA/OOD, etc • Experience with one or more of the following technologies is fantastic: data mining, search engines, crawlers, analytics, business intelligence, SEO, SEM How to Apply: Please forward applications via email only.
