The Clean Air Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing, implementing and managing public engagement and market transformation programs that lead to measurable improvements in air quality.

Currently we are seeking numerous field representatives to work at promotion sites for the MOW DOWN POLLUTION event which runs from April 17th to April 27th, 2008. The program is a gas lawn mower and trimmer retirement and recycling program, where people are encouraged to return their older, higher-polluting gas mowers and trimmers for a rebate towards cleaner alternatives such as push reel, electric, or low emission gas mowers and trimmers.

MOW DOWN POLLUTION will be part of a broader Eco Options promotion which will provide additional financial incentives to customers who purchase a range of environmentally friendly products such as solar lighting, natural fertilizers, trees and shrubs and products that promote water conservation.

Weekend field representatives are required on Saturday and Sunday April 19th and 20th and Saturday and Sunday April 26th and 27th at the Sudbury Home Depot location. There are four 7-hour shifts. There will be an additional 5 paid hours of training and store set-up prior to program dates. The training compensation is divided as follows.
• 2 Hours in-store set-up (set-up April 16th)
• 2 hours on-line training
• 30 minutes conference call training session
• 30 minutes self-study

Responsibilities:
• Engage The Home Depot customers in discussions about the program, and sustainable lawn and garden care.
• Facilitate the exchange of lawn mowers and trimmers (light duty).
• Work four 7-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays (10:00 am to 5:00 pm), Saturday and Sunday April 19th and 20th and Saturday and Sunday April 26th and 27th. Complete administration as required.
• Be available for 5 hours of training/information and store set up sessions.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:
• Outgoing personality – must be able to proactively approach consumers and engage them in conversation.
• Positive personality – must leave the public with a clear directive on how they can make a difference in a positive way.
• Be interested and genuinely concerned about air quality issues and/or other environmental issues.
• Currently enrolled in, or completed post-secondary education.
• Detail-oriented, punctual, conscientious.
• Able to work independently.
• A friendly and professional manner and appearance.
• High-speed internet access (preferred - high-speed users will have easier access to online training).
• Reliable transportation to your Home Depot work location.

Type of Employment: Part-time, Contract

Salary Range: $13/hour
