SUMMER STUDENT WAREHOUSE OPERATOR

Responsibilities:

* Processing and sorting donated food
* Picking orders for 100 families who access the food bank daily
* Picking weekly food orders for 30+ programs supplied weekly through our distribution program
* Stocking shelves and putting excess product up in racking
* Assisting in the direction and supervision of volunteers who work at The Mississauga Food Bank weekly

Permanent warehouse staff will provide training for all tasks assigned. Student will take on supervisory role for other volunteers once they are well-versed in what their job entails. Two or more staff are always present in the warehouse for overseeing this facet of our operation.

Applicants must be:

* be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
* have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
* be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
* be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

This role is for 7 weeks of employment, starting June 28th, 2010. Work is full-time (40 hours/week) and pay is $10.25/hour.
