| PURCHASING MANAGER Our Company is a well established organization. We are an Importer, Exporter, manufacture and distributor of Latin American Food Products. We have numerous customers in Ontario and Quebec. We are expanding our businesses in Argentina and Canada, our purchasing department has 1 opening position for a Purchasing Manager for Argentina food and customize products due to expand existing project, Reporting to the General Produce and Grocery Manager. The qualified candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, negotiating and performing the purchasing of customized products and displayers for Canadian clients, as well as supervising and training purchasing agents. Job description: • Taking over an existing project of customized and private label food products. • Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipments in a timely and cost effective way in Argentina; timely manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications. • Dealing with suppliers in Argentina. • Dealing with Brokers in Argentina • Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new food products from Argentina • Order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved. Review quotations. • Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions. • Maintain procurement files. • Track Purchasing activity and measurements within our Software, MAS90. • Training purchasing Clerks and Salesmen in the department. • Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action. • Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety. • Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships with Argentina and Canadian Companies • Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for Argentina products. • Help to lower the cost and secure agreements. • Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier. Required skills: • Minimum of 1 year experience in Food industry. • 3 to 7 years experience in a similar role, purchasing products from Argentina and bring them into USA and Canada. • Knowledge of Hispanic food Products. • Knowledge of Microsoft office products. • As part of the customize products, strong knowledge of design and packaging is required. • Corel and Adobe Photoshop. • Previous Supervision experience. • Knowledge of MAS 90 and QuickBooks. • Canadian Food Product labeling knowledge is required. • General knowledge of the manufacturing process. • Cost and time evaluation experience. • Experience with Argentina Market, especially how it pertains to cost research for new products. • Previous experience dealing with Argentina export brokers (laws and procedure). • Experience with Argentina manufactures and customized products for Canada and the USA. • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of individuals. • Bilingual in English and Spanish. Perfect writing, reading and listening in Spanish is required. • University Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Economics. • A strong understanding of the import and export laws in Argentina and Canada. • Previous experience with the Tradeshow market in Canada and Argentina. Assets would include: Experience dealing with distributors in the United States and Canada. A Strong portfolio of your experience dealing with manufactures and suppliers in Argentina. Strong knowledge of the Argentina Market place as it relates to products, exports and general supplies.
