Job Description

Component level repair of electronic equipment in both a shop and office environment of both user equipment and network equipment, and completion of associated test records and other paperwork. High quality of workmanship in the repair of communications equipment to component level, in both a shop and field environment (EDACS and Conventional), with the aid of PC-based programs, schematics and other drawings. Installation, set-up and testing of electronic equipment and associated cabling in vehicles and fixed locations (EDACS and Conventional), and completion of associated test sheets and other paperwork. Troubleshoot faults on the GPS simulcast system and other systems interfacing with the EDACS system i.e. computer networks and transition radio systems. Help the on-call technician isolate faults in call-out conditions and after hours if necessary. Find and Isolate faults that need to be rectified by engineering and report them to the support specialist to be forwarded to engineering. Tracking trouble reported by the customer and finding solutions for reoccurring faults.

Qualifications

Graduate of a two year technical college program in electronics / communications or Graduate of a three-year technical college program-engineering technologist in electronics diploma. Minimum of 2 years technical experience in the electronics communications industry.
Possess a valid driver’s license
