| Experienced Legal Admin. Assistants (3 positions available) Established in 1937, Baker Newby LLP is the largest Fraser Valley law firm with offices in Chilliwack and Abbotsford. We are looking for applicants with a desire to reconnect with existing roots in Abbotsford or Chilliwack, or a desire to develop new roots in the beautiful Fraser Valley. We are currently soliciting applicants for the following positions: 1. ICBC Defence Legal Assistant (Chilliwack office) - Preferred applicants will be very familiar with an ICBC defence practice, and be ready to work for a face paced and busy senior associate in our firm. 2. Legal Assistant Floater (Chilliwack office) - Preferred applicants will have a broad exposure to various practice areas, specifically ICBC defence, and general solicitors practice areas such as wills and estates. 3. General Solicitors Legal Assistant (Chilliwack office) - Preferred applicants will have experience with conveyancing and/or commercial lending. Duties and responsibilities common to each of the above positions include: 1. Perform a variety of legal administrative and secretarial duties as required for the specific lawyer or team; 2. Maintain and facilitate contact with clients, lawyers and staff, with a strong appreciation and observance of client and firm confidentiality; 3. Prepare correspondence, e-mails, and other legal documents from previous written drafts or verbal instruction through digital dictation; 4. Maintain individual calendars, and adhere to the firm’s document precedent system for quality and consistency; 5. Proofreading documents with meticulous attention to detail; 6. For the litigation positions, a solid understanding of court rules and litigation procedures and processes. 7. Ability to work in a team oriented environment, with a willingness to welcome our firm culture as it relates to quality, consistency, trust, and distinction. | |
