Refigeration Apprentice 4th year

Skill Requirements:

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 4th Period Apprentice, Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate, Driver's License, WHMIS, Confined space training, Forklift license, Elevated work platform training

Experience: 3 - 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Installation, Commercial
Refrigeration Specialization: Supermarket
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems: Rooftop (self-contained)
Control Systems: Energy conservation, Electrical devices, Programmable logic controllers (PLC)
Specific Skills: Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment, Commission systems and test for leaks using testing devices, Install, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
Additional Skills: Read blueprints, Service clientele, Coach and instruct apprentices
Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing
Other: Must have a solid background in commercial and industrial refrigeration. Must be able to work nights/weekends in order to accommodate construction schedules, and be able to travel out of town to complete assignments.
