Accounting Software Support Specialist

Britec is seeking an energetic career oriented individual to join our Team, based in our Red Deer office. This challenging and dynamic position would suit a self-starter who enjoys a fast paced environment and a variety of responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have been exposed to a wide range of technologies and has a talent and flair for troubleshooting combined with a methodical approach to system analysis.



Required for the position:

* Bachelor of Commerce Degree or equivalent with a concentration in MIS, ACCT, OPMA
* Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with project team members
* Understanding of accounting principles and business practices
* Excellent skills in MS Office products
* Willingness to become product certified

Position Summary:
This position supports client accounting software installations, including troubleshooting and delivering regular user support and training. The successful candidate will have a track record of working both independently and as a member of a project team, in a variety of business environments. This position involves solving business issues through the implementation and/or enhancement of accounting, financial reporting, operations, and business management applications – specifically Sage ACCPAC ERP, Sage BusinessVision or Microsoft Dynamics NAV. This position requires working closely with our Senior Consultants, while reporting to the District Manager. Training to acquire formal product certification will be provided.

Position Responsibilities:

* Installation and testing of accounting software and software upgrades
* Configure accounting software systems to user specifications
* Assist in performing accounting conversions/migrations
* Work with users to diagnose and resolve basic operational or system issues
* Conduct application software training sessions for individuals or small groups
* Perform basic modifications to Crystal Reports
* Test data integrity and resolve inconsistencies
* Conduct occasional work outside regular business hours (usually scheduled)
* Other Necessary Abilities Include:
* Ability to prepare simple oral and written reports
* Ability to express ideas and present them in user-friendly language
* Ability to effectively communicate in front of small groups
* Ability to be flexible while adapting to and fostering positive change.
* Good analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
* Ability to quickly learn and master new software, and application releases
* Access to reliable transportation
