Production Manager

Family Business Distribution has an opening for an experienced Production Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Product Development, the Production Manager will be responsible for administering and supervising the manufacturing process from the sampling stage through to final inspection. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating efficient strategies to produce on time delivery of goods that meet our quality standards.

Responsibilities:
▪ Planning and scheduling of internal production processes as well as vendor timelines.
▪ Creating & updating seasonal purchasing requirements, issuing purchase orders and tracking of raw materials.
▪ Ensuring that all vendors receive raw materials efficiently and on time.
▪ Coordinating and managing fittings with a Fit Model and the Technical Designer.
▪ Updating garment spec packs, submitting revisions to vendors.
▪ Gathering quotes from vendors and compiling internal costing worksheets.
▪ Gathering sales numbers from Brand Managers, entering into data management system.
▪ Creating and submitting packaging requirements to vendors.
▪ Keeping up to date with seasonal RA’s and reconciling claims with vendors.
▪ Providing the Logistics Manager with garment spec information.
▪ Work with Logistics Manager during pre and post shipping on inventory management and shipping/receiving discrepancies.
▪ Negotiating with vendors on any production QC related issues. Strategies will be determined together with the Head of Production Development.
▪ Traveling overseas 2-4 times per annum.

Qualifications:
▪ Minimum 3 years experience in a similar production based role.
▪ Hands on knowledge of garment construction, pattern making and finishing techniques.
▪ Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks at one time.
▪ Ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines.
▪ Strategic thinking and very strong problem solving skills.
▪ Very detail oriented.
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
▪ Enthusiastic self motivated team player.

Assets:
▪ Experience working with vendors on a global level.
▪ Knowledge of inventory management and shipping logistics.
▪ Strong leadership skills.
▪ Ability to write or speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
