Agricultural Mechanical Technician Our client, Jay Dee Equipment Ltd., is a multi-location Saskatchewan John Deere dealership that is solid, stable, and progressive. Their Kindersley and Swift Current locations currently require journeyman farm equipment technician(s) to join their team. JOB DESCRIPTION Jay Dee Equipment Ltd. requires an individual to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, and maintain mobile heavy-duty farm equipment. Key elements include: Ø Diagnose a problem with equipment by using problem-solving sequences for a machine. Use whatever materials available to determine the problem (e.g., service manuals, hotline, use fault codes on a computer) Ø Excellent job planning and organizing – plan the sequence of tasks required on equipment to complete tasks efficiently. Ø Communicate efficiently with customers and other employees. Ø Willing to work extended hours during seeding and harvest to ensure customers get their equipment when needed. Ø Provide in-shop and on-farm service as required. Ø Strive to do the best job at the most economical cost to the producer. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION Ø Interprovincial Journeyman certification Ø Ability to operate equipment being repaired. Ø Drivers license Ø Enjoys problem solving, diversity of tasks, unpredictable schedules and new learning. Ø A mechanical sense and interest in learning beyond the immediate situation. Ø Familiarity with electronic sensory measurement and on-board computer diagnostic systems. Ø Higher levels of reading, information finding, and writing. Ø Excellent communication skills are important as writing and speaking will occur with technical and non-technical people.
