Shelter Program Evaluator

Kingston Interval House, a feminist organization which operates an emergency shelter and outreach program for abused women and their children, in a progressive and challenging work environment is seeking female student applicants for the following summer positions. All applicants must be intending to return to school full time in September.

Start Date: June 1, 2009

Responsibilities; Work collaboratively with shelter staff teams to conduct a full assessment of all shelter programs, including but not limited to developing and implementing evaluation tools, conducting focus groups, review and analysis of data, research of best practices, development of recommendations and writing of a final report.

Qualifications: University student enrolled in Women’s Studies, Education, Social Work/Social Science, Psychology, Human Geography or other equivalent programs. Knowledge and experience in the area of violence against women and children; excellent research skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills; knowledge of community resources; experience working within a team setting, ability to work independently.
