| Chief Operating Officer - Mining **Extremely challenging role **Diversified resources group **Senior Management role Chief Operating Officer - Mining Our client is a diversified resources group listed on the ASX. We are currently looking for an experienced COO to take the group to new heights. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors. The Chief Operating Officer is a corporate officer responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the corporation. The focus of the COO is on strategic, tactical, and short-term OM, which means he or she is responsible for the design, operation, and improvement of the systems that create and deliver the firm objectives. Your primary concern is operations improvement. Experience and Technical Skills **At least 20 years experience in progressively more senior positions in a mining enterprise including operations, project and engineering management. **Experience and understanding of project financing; the business acumen to attract key strategic investor and partners. **Significant development and operations experience **Ideally candidates should also hold an appropriate mining engineering degree together with an economics or business qualification and have a broad base of commodity experience. **Demonstrated track record and expertise in project development/management and long-term planning. **Experience or capability of marketing a company to the investing public and financial community. **A track record in managing local environmental, social and political issues. **Experience working in a developing country would be an asset. A knowledge and understanding of income statements and balance sheets is necessary.
