| Technical Support Here’s a great opportunity for a specialist with experience in providing technical support and service to users in head office, multi-unit retail and remote sites. This newly-created position is based out of our client’s East Vancouver location, with travel to stores in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area as required to assist end-users. To effectively respond to requests, troubleshoot and resolve reported application and hardware issues, you will have considerable technical support/help desk experience, ideally in a retail environment. Qualified candidates will have specific experience with MS Windows Server 2003; Exchange Server 2003; SQL Server 2000/2005; VMWare; Linux Redhat and distributed networking. With the travel required to support local stores, a valid driver’s license is also required. Duties will include basic systems, network, LAN/WAN, and security administration; end user training; procurement, vendor management and asset tracking; applications support; configuration management; systems infrastructure support; acting as a resource to the IT team and assisting with various projects. Any prior experience or knowledge of Apropos software, retail management and point of sale systems would be a decided advantage. It would also be an asset if you know Cisco networking technologies, database, web and application programming languages. Additional attributes are a strong team orientation, a collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
