Retail Territory Manager (Senior Level)

Do you have current relationships with Costco, Overwaitea food group, Sysco, Sobeys, Safeway, Loblaws, Zellers and Real Canadian Superstore?

Our client is looking for a high energy individual who thrives in a fast paced business development environment. This is a senior level position selling and representing their food industry products to major chains in a retail environment throughout Canada and the USA.

You MUST have prior food industry experience in the fresh grocery business and current relationships with all of the above retailers. Are you capable of thriving under pressure and meeting deadlines? Are you thick skinned and motivated? Then this could be the role for you. We are looking for the best of the best and will not be looking at applications that do not outline the above relationships.

The expectations of this role include:

High level of business development – making phone calls and handling inbound calls to convert into sales
Develop a prospective customer list to utilize for sales leads from a range of resources including ad inquiries, trade shows, business directories and other tools
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Provide product demonstrations, quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales orders
Manage inventory by tracking stock levels and estimating delivery dates for customers
Coordinate customer training
Prepare reports of business transactions
Maintain customer database
Travel as required to trade shows (up to 30% domestic and international travel)

Project Management skills and the ability to complete a project on time and on budget through planning and prioritizing
Respond quickly and effectively to customer feedback and needs and utilize this feedback to improve quality
Strong communication skills, both written and oral with high interpersonal ability and experience in communicating with a variety of people from a range of cultures and backgrounds
The ability to analyze the market and competition and develop strategies to achieve organizational goals in changing conditions
Decisive in nature with sound and accurate judgment
We are looking for someone dependable and adaptable, someone who can change and needs change and will strive to meet challenges and goals. You need to be able to show initiative and have a working knowledge of MS Office and QuickBooks Accounting software.
