Child and Youth Care Worker

Position Summary
The Child and Youth Care Worker will assist children and youth in a therapeutic milieu to develop resiliency and support these competencies in all areas of their lives. These services occur in a home-like environment that will have additional structure and supports to address the needs of the physically aggressive child or youth. The Child and Youth Care Worker works in collaboration with other Child and Youth Care Workers, Team Leaders, children and youth and involved external parties; they are accountable to the Dragonfly Team Leader. This can be both full time and part time permanent position and Child and Youth Care Workers are eligible for the Alta Care Resources’ Extended Benefits Program (level B) if they maintain 20+ hours per week.

Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in human services or certified Child and Youth Care Worker or a minimum of 2 years experience in group care services
• Valid driver’s licence
• Demonstrated conflict management and crisis intervention skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
