| Director Product Support Company Profile Our client engineers, designs and produces heavy equipment exclusively for the logging industry at their facility in Nanaimo, BC. Responsibilities ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: Lead the corporate parts and service departments with the focus of creating value for the customer (end user, branch, and independent distributor) and the shareholders of the employer. DIMENSIONS: - Annual administrative budget of ~ $1.3M - Sales revenues of $20-30M - Staffing of ~25 employees - Revenue, Profit, and Inventory - Customer value creation - Parts and service marketing - Company owned retail sales outlets and independent distributors - Product Integrity and warranty - Shared values of integrity, trust, perseverance, accountability, and communication w/o boundaries PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Analyze and maintain appropriate inventory for service parts to turn service inventory two times annually and meet order fulfillment goals - Develop parts and service marketing strategies to meet budgeted revenue and profit goals. Develop promotional flyers and brochures, service training brochures, technical and application presentations in support of these strategies - Develop parts and service training materials and conduct training for branches, dealers and internal Madill personnel as appropriate - Develop strategic plans that drive revenue, profits, and customer satisfaction activities - Develop and organize branch and dealer parts and service training - Develop and meet annual spending budgets - Recommend improvements to products to satisfy customers and that also reduce the cost of external warranty and policy settlements. Understand product failures and request product changes - Lead product integrity discussions (old and new product) to ensure products are reliable, of high quality, and meet customer expectations - Investigate product safety issues and recommend changes to product designs that affect the safe operation of products - Promote positive relations with customers, dealers, and Madill sales personnel - Participate in Sales strategy discussions to ensure that Parts & Service strategies support the sales goals - Participate in distributor annual planning conferences with Sales group INDICATORS OF PERFORMANCE: - Meet parts and service inventory, revenue and profit targets - Customer, branch, and distributor feedback - Product line success and acceptance - Establish metric and maintain performance on warranty claims turn-a-round - Establish metric and drive service parts order fulfillment to a level of 90% orders filled complete for emergency and stock Qualifications SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of B.S. degree (technical discipline preferred) - Minimum 10 years experience in parts and service.Understanding of the logging industry, preferred - Strong background in the technical support of heavy equipment products - Multiple leadership roles - Results oriented, lead by establishing strategies, manage the process - Team and people oriented - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office) KEY COMPETENTICIES: - Professional in appearance and demeanor - Self-starter, independent, work with minimal supervision - Hard driving (balanced with patience), results oriented - Assertive, ability to sell ideas - Flexible, adaptable - Strategic planning - Strong work ethic and sense of urgency - Leadership, coaching, and team building ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Departments reporting to the same higher level Leader - Engineering - Finance and Accounting - Operations - Retail Sales and Marketing - Distribution Sales *** Will relocate the right individual ** | |
