| Java Developer Job Description: As a member of the core engineering group your experience with Java and Web applications will be critical as you help design, develop and support software product. You will work in a team-based environment where test driven development is practiced to ensure high quality deliverables. Key Responsibilities " Design and develop web user interfaces and web services using Java and web technology " Thorough unit and integration testing " Collaborate with team members to find alternative design approaches to complex technical issues " Providing accurate time estimates for assigned tasks " Participation in design reviews, code reviews & code documentation Competencies " Strong software design and development skills following formal software development process and methodologies " Ability to work effectively in a team environment " Excellent problem solving skills " Excellent English oral/written communication skills " Capacity to quickly learn new technologies " Good time management skills allowing the ability to multitask " Proven experience in analysis/design/usage of large databases " Financial/Securities industry experience is a definite asset Qualifications: " A minimum of 5 years working with Object Oriented design, algorithm development, and code reuse " Experience with automated testing technologies (jUnit, jWebUnit, FIT) " 4 years of Java development experience " 4 years of web user interface design & development (JSP, Tapestry, HTML, Java script, CSS, etc) " Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle " Experience working with Java Servlets Location: Mississauga | |
