| Packaging Engineer Experience/Skills required: A "hands-on" graphic designer with experience in the designing of packaging / containers / boxes. Must have AutoCad experience, excellent communication and motivating skills. Must be well organized and be able to work well under pressure. Must be flexible and adaptable to change. This is normally a fast paced high pressure environment. This job will evolve over time, so it is necessary to be open-minded, and be able to work well with others. Must have current knowledge of different packaging suppliers, to be able to possibly use new methods of packaging. Must be able to design adequate packaging for items traveling by road, sea, and especially air. Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft office. Duties: Responsible for overseeing the packaging department (must have the ability to supervise a staff of at least 10 people). Designing appropriate packaging to accommodate a wide variety of items. The designer will need to assess the items and determine the best means of packaging, as well as work with the corrugated suppliers to ensure they follow through on the specifications laid out. Using AutoCad to visually present the design to the Plant Manager for final approval. Ordering supplies to ensure materials are available to meet shipping schedule. Must have a flexible schedule as there will be overtime required during the busy season, as well as Saturday work. Salary: $60,000 | |
