| Mechanical Design Engineer Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Industry: Food Processing and Equip. Salary Range: $65-85K + benefits Location: Richmond, BC Recruiter: Irene Ostrowercha Company Profile Since 1979, our client have supplied a growing line of unique, versatile, and reliable freezing and cooling equipment to meet the requirements of the food processing and refrigeration industries. They are widely acclaimed as one of the leading freezer design and manufacturing companies in the world and number one in the world when it comes to IQF systems. Responsibilities Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and supports activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems Researches and analyzes data such as customer's application, customer's site constraints, customer's process to select and design the appropriate tunnel freezer for the specific application Generate the necessary drawings for customer approval and for manufacturing and installation Utilizes engineering principles to modify existing designs to satisfy customer requirements Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community Write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; plus one to two years related experience and/or training in machine design or equivalent combination of education and experience Professional Engineer accredation in British Columbia - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully Develops alternative solutions Works well in group problem solving situations Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Ability to speak Cantonese or Mandarine. - Working knowledge of refrigeration / freezing systems would be an asset. | |
