Labatt is currently seeking a People Manager with solid experience in Industrial Relations. This individual will be responsible for the HR function including IR, union management and administering of the Labatt Excellence Program to 150 union/non union employees . Previous experience in successfully negotiation of a collective agreement is required.


Position Summary:

• Working with the local Supply leadership team, leads and manages People initiatives within the Supply area of the region (both Brewery & Logistics functions).

• Provides strategic and tactical leadership to client group to ensure the People function is an effective business partner in achieving business results.

• Advise and directs local Supply leadership team on People matters related to company policy and employment law.



Key Responsibilities:

• Leading, delivering and monitoring key People process such as Other People Resource (OPR) below the director level; performance management, target setting & cascading.

• Lead recruitment process for all positions within the client group.

• Work with the Supply team to attract, develop and maintain strong internal entry-level “bench” of future Supply manager candidates thereby creating a strategic advantage for the Supply team.

• Manage relationship with external supplier of talent (Ceridian) to ensure top quality junior sales candidates are recruited for Labatt.

• Advise, council and/or direct local Supply leadership team on company policy and employment law.

• Act as business partner with client group on addressing employee needs and business needs in order to accomplish the business objectives.

• Liaise with Supply Management and Zone Supply Learning & Development team to ensure that all develop needs are supported accordingly.

• Participate in and lead the People Matters agenda for the Supply unit.

• Lead, support and implement local, national and global People Matter Projects as required.

• Ensure client group meets annual People ZBB package targets.

• Communicate and administer annual compensation program including bonus and merit.

• Support the annual performance management process (Sharp) and conduct audits to ensure that development needs are identified and addressed.

• Coordinate internal communications for all people-related activity within the Supply Unit.



Technical Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of employment law.

• Strong IR experience, with prior experience successfully negotiating collective agreement.

• Human Resources Manager (HR).



Other Skills / Competencies / Attributes:

• College Diploma or University Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.

• Prior Industrial Relations experience required.

• 3-5 years of other related HR experience – recruitment, compensation, learning & development, etc.

• Excellent leadership & influencing skills .

• Excellent facilitation & communication skills.

• Strong planning & organizational skills.

• Excellent relationship building skills.

• Results and action oriented.
