| Materials Manager As a Materials Manager, you will work collaboratively with the Company’s business unit leadership and other members of the Materials Management team to plan and facilitate the effective delivery of material requirements. You will also be actively involved in sourcing competitive supply, supplier selection and development, and supporting major contract negotiations. Role Highlights • Provide leadership to the Materials Management team. • Develop a strong rapport with business units to facilitate the effective and efficient delivery of project material requirements. • Maintain effective relationships with our key suppliers. • Engage in strategic sourcing of materials and services. • Develop and implement “best class” practices in supply chain management. Requirements Candidates applying for this position are expected to have knowledge and experience in the following areas: • Proven ability to lead and work with others; • Knowledge of procurement practices such as the competitive bidding process; • Knowledge of, and experience with, general contract terms and conditions; • Knowledge of, and experience with, transportation logistics (including cross-border processes); • Knowledge of, and experience with, inventory management; • Strong communication skills (written and verbal); • Financial analysis abilities; • Negotiation skills, including the ability to reconcile conflicting service and financial requirements; • Experience managing spend in excess of $5 million; • Familiarity with e-procurement / e-sourcing applications an asset; • 5 years + procurement experience, preferably in a high-technology project management environment (professional engineering services); and • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). The ideal candidate has a university or college education (a focus in business, finance or accounting is preferred) and/or industry specific accreditations (e.g. PMAC).
