| Sr. Manager IT Business Planning Sr. Manager IT Bus Planning Responsibilities -Serve as a liaison between IT and the business community to articulate requirements to IT and translate the opportunities, delivered through IT enhancement, to the business. -Work closely with our business partners and various cross functional teams to document requirements relevant for IT to develop a technical response. -Assist the IT Application Directors and project teams to ensure our business partners have a clear and complete understanding of proposed IT solutions. -Work with the business to understand and shape IT demand, evaluate against business and IT roadmaps and determine appropriate go forward approach and priority. -Develop understanding of business needs through discussion and interviews. -Primarily support a specific portfolio of Business Requirements (ie: Cable, Wireless, Business Solutions etc.) with cross over knowledge to other lines of business. -Analyze and assist our business partners with design of new business processes as a result of technology solution enhancements. -Support the annual development of the Business and IT Strategic Plans Qualifications -8-10 years min Business Analyst & Customer / business facing experience preferably in the Telecommunications industry. -An appreciation of end-user needs and requirements - ability to see the big picture and understand the need of all stakeholders within an implementation of a Product, Solution or Service. - 7+ years expertise in defining business & functional requirements for IT Project teams. -Experience working with large cross-functional teams and large product and solution Deliverables. -Previous experience with the consolidation and analysis of project and or resource information. -University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent business experience. -Excellent problem solving, organization and analytic ability -Superior oral and written communication skills. -Proven capability to handle multiple projects -Ability to collaborate with colleagues, across the organization to get things done. -Proven ability to motivate and lead a results oriented team and clearly communicate objectives. -Previous Management Experience either in direct staff management or in a matrix environment providing leadership to cross-functional areas would be an asset. -Works with long term perspective in addressing the customers¿ problems. Consistently initiates actions that create win-win situations for the customer and then credits the customer with that success. May trade off immediate cost for the sake of the long term relationship. -Reads beyond what is said, especially where thoughts, concerns, needs or feelings are poorly expressed. Is able to view and demonstrate understanding of issues from another’s perspective. -Brings conflict within the team into the open and allows expression of viewpoints. Focuses on the objectives and facilitates a beneficial resolution of conflict with others to ensure decisions best reflect the interests of the department or organization. Scope Reporting to the Dir IT Planning and Governance, the Sr. Manager, IT Business Planning would establish a strong working partnership with the senior business teams and IT Application teams to ensure opportunities for synergy in IT services and projects leveraged across business units. The objective of this role is to ensure that IT has a greater understanding of, and is responsive to, current and emerging business needs, and the business is aware of the IT strategy and trade-offs in relation to those needs. The Sr. Manager, IT Business Planning would serve as resource for understanding business needs and processes - translating them into specific requirements, critical to achieving business objectives. Through project participation, this role will understand the functional requirements of the IT solutions. The Sr. Manager, IT Business Planning will have a detailed understanding of the business processes and strategy, and can correlate them to the IT solutions and the long-term IT Strategy.
