J2EE ENGINEER – support department (English)

Key responsibilities:
• Provide services during all stages of support delivery and work with end customer to troubleshoot reported issues and follow resolution paths towards speedy and efficient resolution of the customer issue
• Follow proper defined and documented case handling procedures and escalation procedures and meet SLA’s
• Monitor incoming end customer phone, email or web support requests (take ownership of issue, analyze customer problems, replicate, test, troubleshoot and provide adequate support and timely resolution to the issue)
• Communicate with end customers through a number of channels including telephone, email and the web tool
• Continuously learn supported product family and continually improve expertise and gain in-depth knowledge, skills and command over the products
• Learn current and prerelease products in the lines of support
• Coordinate and assist with product upgrades

Qualifications requirements:

• University degree in IT, electronics, maths or equivalent
• At least 2 years of commercial experience as applications developer or technical consultant
• Experience and excellent J2EE knowledge (java, JDBC, EJB, JMS, Web Services)
• Good experience with any relational data base (eg. Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MS SQL Server)
• Experience with tunning of operating systems (Windows / Unix )
• Ability to understand end customer problem (urgency, sensitivity) and provide technical solution to the problem
• Ability to work well in demanding customer environment/customer escalations
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to speak confidently and communicate clearly with customer
• Fluent English (job requires phone interaction with UK developers, IT managers, project, managers)
nice to have:

• Working knowledge of web application servers, especially WebLogic server
• Exposure to web security
• Experience using a CRM system (Siebel, Clarify, PeopleSoft)
