| Documentation and Testing Specialist Are you a looking to develop your career in a technical documentation / quality control role? We need a dynamic individual to take the lead position in creating user facing documentation and an active role in application testing to improve the level of services that we provide to our customers. It is critical that the quality of our applications is at the forefront, providing the best user experience possible. Are you a self-starter, looking for an exciting new opportunity to help take our documentation and testing to a new level? If so, we want to talk to you! Responsibilities: * Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of our CivicWeb suite of applications * Create and maintain user documentation in various forms, including on-line help tools, application-based help information, audio/visual self help tools, blogs, etc. * Undertake application testing, following test scripts and iCompass policy, to ensure quality levels are met * Maintain testing documentation and scripts * Report testing issues using iCompass’ internal reporting tools * Contribute to Quality Assurance improvement efforts and planning * Contribute to customer training improvement efforts * Gain a good understanding of local government meeting and information management processes Qualifications: * Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in technical writing, computer science, computer programming, Web technology or a related field * 2- 5 years of working experience in a software user documentation and/or testing role * Hands-on experience interacting with various software applications * Experience with current documentation tools and techniques, especially in a Microsoft .net environment is an asset * Knowledge of automated web-based software testing tools is an asset * Knowledge of server load testing in a programming environment is an asset * Excellent verbal and written communication skills required as well as strong collaboration skills working in a team environment * Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments * Ability to communicate issues and escalate problems Benefits: * Competitive salaries, employee benefits and stock options * Professional development opportunities * Exciting, high-energy work environment Kamloops: * is home to a growing population of over 85,000 residents and offers the best of what BC has to offer - an outstanding quality of life set in a spectacular landscape * boasts a mild climate and close proximity to the outdoors thus giving local residents unlimited recreation opportunities such as skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, golf, hiking, tennis, swimming, fishing and boating * is a short drive from Sun Peaks Resort, one of the top six ski resorts in Canada * ranks as one of the lowest cost cities to live in North America with the lowest housing costs in comparison to similar size cities in BC * is where the main campus of Thompson Rivers University is located * is “Canada’s Tournament Capital” Only candidates selected for interviews will be notified. | |
