| Quality Assurance Engineer This position is for our direct. Our client is a top investment bank worldwide. They are starting their operation in Montreal. Position Description ==================== STP Technology Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Position Description: This is an opportunity to be a part of a total Testing & Quality Assurance approach to enterprise application testing here at Morgan Stanley. STP QA, the dedicated testing and QA group of STP Technology, identifies, designs, implements, and executes testing methodologies and toolsets for our clients. This particular position will be working with in a dynamic and challenging STP project, the Enterprise Client Application projects. In STP QA, QA analysts participate in the analysis and design phases, gaining a level of familiarity with the business requirements and technical design unusual in the QA world. As a result, STP QA produces test designs which effectively test very complex business functionality. The QA analyst will be a part of testing efforts from inception to successful signoff. Some of the specific responsibilities will include: • Participating in the development, and support of a fully self-sufficient testing program aimed at supporting multiple testing efforts simultaneously • Being a part of an ongoing effort to bring new testing knowledge into STP QA • Assist with test strategy articulation, planning, and management of individual testing events • Using a powerful server-side oriented testing tool kit developed by the STP QA Tools team • Identifying testable events, and the development of test cases and automated test scripts • Capture test data to support the test cases • Leverage the testing process and test tool kit to create re-useable test assets • Act as STP QA representative to IT and user groups within relevant test phases • Provide regular contributions to testing management reporting pack • Understand the business risk and implications of introducing new software or hardware into the production environment • Execution and tracking of tests • Overall management of test efforts, including UAT events • Planning, execution and support of automated regression events using Quick Test Pro. Industry experience in testing large scale enterprise products. Skills Required =============== Strong QA Testing experience in large cross platform testing programs • Experience testing UNIX/Linux , MQ & Windows OS environment applications • Experience operating in SQL, Sybase/Oracle, DB2 • Experience using Quick Test Pro, VB scripting and Mercury products • Experience testing Java, XML, C#, .NET products • UNIX shell scripting and/or Perl programming • Knowledge of MQ Series and XML • Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary • Experience building back-end automated test harnesses • Desire to share information and move projects forward • Desire to learn the business functionality being developed in systems • Desire to understand how complex software and business requirements intersect • Passion for testing and quality assurance • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills • Strong client service orientation• 4 year Bachelors degree required. Skills Desired ============== · Knowledge of the financial services/brokerage industry is a plus but not required. | |
