| Financial Analyst Responsibilities Financial Analyst, Operations, Regulatory and Business Services (OBR) This is a 10 month Contract position Overview: Reporting to the Finance Manger, Management Reporting, this position is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information to satisfy both Global and Local reporting requirements related to OBR and Cost of Sales. Financial and Performance Reporting · Complete the monthly financial reporting for the Operations unit in SAP and AFFIRM · Complete the Cost of Sales and Gross Margin Analysis on a local and consolidated cost basis · Analyse monthly manufacturing and non-manufacturing results against plan, report variances and other performance information to local management · Resolve accounting issues and problems within production accounting in a timely manner · Ensure all information is prepared in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with Global Guidelines and Best Practices · Review new product costs in SCORE each month to ensure all products have costs assigned on a monthly basis · Report on Manufacturing Operations performance and suggest corrective actions as necessary · Prepare monthly KPI analysis for Senior Mgmt and prepare monthly performance presentation slides Budgeting, Forecasting and Standard Cost Development · Assist in the annual budgeting (ABU) and quarterly forecasting (RBU) process for OBR · Calculate Manufacturing Variance forecasts · Review Production volume forecasts and analyse impact on manufacturing variance · Maintain SCORE (Global System) throughout the year with current standard costs · Develop standard costs and work with tax group to develop transfer prices · Calculate Cost of Goods Sold based for ABU and quarterly RBUs · Input budget and forecasts into Hyperion Planning System Business Partner Support · Provide Business Partner Support to Human Resources, Operations, Regulatory and Business Services · Prepare in-depth analyses of site expenses, headcount and production to indicate trends and identify opportunities for improvement · Provide support throughout the Packaging Exit in 2008 Qualifications · 3 years relevant experience, in financial analysis and budgeting · Exposure to a Manufacturing environment, including understanding of standard costs · CA, CMA or CGA designation, or equivalent experience · Strong analytical and problem solving skills · Strong time management, planning and organizational skills · Good written and verbal communication skills · Customer focused · Demonstrated personal characteristics of self-motivation and initiative · Committed and supportive team player, with excellent interpersonal skills in general · Capable of being flexible and adaptable to change · Experience with an ERP system, SAP preferred · Strong Microsoft Excel skills, and sufficient MS Office skills experience in general Qualified candidates who are interested in this contract position are invited to apply on-line at www.astrazeneca.ca, quoting the reference number in the cover letter.
