| Sous Chef We are seeking a Sous Chef who has a passion and dedication to quality, service and creativity and is able to mentor and coach kitchen staff in a changing environment. Objective: To contribute to the profitability and efficiency of the department through the skilled preparation and cooking of all dishes in accordance with menu specifications and completion of kitchen duties in accordance with Hotel Policy and Health and Safety Regulations. Responsibilities: o Responsible for assisting in the management of the food preparation department o Create and present menu plans o Ensure that all food products produced are of the utmost quality and appeal o Operation of the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef o Supervision of kitchen staff o Provide training and cross training for all kitchen staff o Acts as a liaison with other departments o Maintains all occupational health and safety standards Preferred Qualifications: o University or College Diploma from a Culinary or Hospitality Program o 3-5 years experience as a Chef within a full-service property o FoodSafe Certification o Menu and service design experience o Must have strong multi-tasking abilities along with excellent communication and organizational skills o Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability o Proven ability to manage multi-tasked assignments and work effectively as a team member o Adaptable to change o Ability to work well under pressure * Salary + incentive based on experience | |
