| Operations Manager Operations Manager Fort McMurray. Alberta NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: • The Operations Manager will manage the Fort McMurray Ammonium Sulphate Recovery operations team ensuring reliable and cost effective operations while meeting or exceeding Safety, Environmental, Responsible Care® and Quality standards. • Ensure the Fort McMurray operations teams are managed in the most cost effective, responsible and reliable manner: • Ensure operational activities and systems are in place and used effectively to produce the required volumes of quality product in a safe, environmentally responsible and timely manner • Provide support in the management of site period costs and capital budgets • Ensure site environmental management systems are in place, functional and ensure that Operating Approval requirements are met. • With the assistance of Regional Resources evaluates manufacturing processes with a focus on operational reliability and continuous improvement, implementing industry best practices where practicable. • Provide support to the Reliability Leader to ensure that the site Reliability Systems and Practices (including corrective measures) are in place to enable quality product to be produced in the required volumes in a safe • Ensure operational activities meet the requirements of the Responsible Care® ethic. • Maintain a working environment that fosters a high degree of participation and team work among all employees. • Under the guidance of the Plant Manager and Commercial provide the necessary technical service support to ensure that customer requirements are fully met. DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor degree or higher in Chemical Engineering and either a • Current Member or eligible for membership in APEGGA • Or equivalent operational experience • At least 5 years operational experience with proven experience in • Safety and environmental leadership • Chemical plant operational and reliability leadership • Chemical plant optimization / improvement • Project management | |
