Area / Operations Manager

S.R.P. North Ventures Ltd. is currently seeking a dynamic team member for a challenging opportunity as the Area Manager / Operations Manager located in our Norman Wells, NWT operation.

Successful candidate can either be based in Norman Wells (accommodations are provided on site), or can be on a rotation of 3 weeks on, 1 week off (fly in/fly out of Edmonton area).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Lead a team of four direct reports to achieve the area’s business goals
Develop and implement the work plan for the region that is adaptable to change and that can anticipate and overcome potential obstacles
Ensure compliance with Flint’s safety management system in all operations
Optimize equipment and crew schedules in a safe and effective manner
Manage client expectations regarding scope of work
Ensure staff are appropriately trained to execute their job duties effectively
Maintain and repair equipment to ensure proper operation in a timely fashion
Ensure that the camp facilities are routinely cleaned and maintained up to NWT standards
Monitor and ensure that camp food quality is top quality
Maintain and lead all Shop operations; Optimize inventory levels and parts allocations
Maintain all work orders
Build and maintain client relationships; Attend all client meetings and keep lines of communication open with all clients
Manage overall operations including: Budget, Quality Control, JPM, and Safety Performance
Actively pursues new business opportunities to grow / maintain existing client base
Performs estimating / scheduling functions
Determine appropriate resource levels including: Staffing, Equipment, Materials, and Facilities
Effectively resolves Operating Centre disputes / issues
Negotiate with clients to address change orders, quality control and performance issues
Accurate and timely invoicing and resolution of invoicing issues
Supervise and coordinate rig moves


The following skills, experience and qualifications are strongly encouraged:

Proven management skills in a construction / maintenance environment that services the energy industry
A comprehensive knowledge of industry Quality Control and Safe Work standards
Solid planning, management, supervisory, communication, organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills
