We are also proud to manufacture and sell the popular Veenhuis Silage and Gravel dumpers. At our company our amazing lineup of Kemper row independent corn heads and other company products are designed to get the farmer ahead by provide innovative working solutions to everyday issues. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified applicants to join an established dealership to contribute to our future growth as a Agricultural Equipment Mechanic. Main Functions: Working in the Service Bay and on Customers’ sites, the Agricultural Equipment Mechanics diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul customer’s farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors and harvesters, and reconditions used equipment for resale by the dealership. Duties: Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand or power tools. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment. Service attachments and working tools such as harvesting and tillage equipment, blades, ploughs, winches, and side booms. Attach components and adjust new farm equipment. Check over equipment and give list of labour and parts to Service Manager Describe a problem, some possible courses of action, and the advantages of each to a customer, making sure customer has enough information to make a reasonable decision Provide details to Service Writer for warranty reports to explain work for reimbursement Locate and use information from service manuals, online or in print. Assess time required for work order and track all hours and material. Actively participate in training Carry Pager to respond to on-site customer service needs Skills, Abilities, Knowledge Requirements: Able to talk with customer by telephone, listening as customer describes a problem, interpreting, questioning, advising, describing (talking through) a procedure to repair/replace a part. Ability to read, interpret and use periodicals, service bulletins, service manuals, and computer programs Able to analyze measurements of pressure, flow, and power related to adjustments to hydraulic pump Able to measure tolerances in machine parts to thousandths of an inch or decimals of a millimeter to determine wear Mechanical ability and manual dexterity Read electrical schematics to diagnose a problem · Ability to use a computer to perform diagnostics and look up service manuals Use a creative approach to problem solving; adaptability and flexibility A responsible attitude in working with expensive equipment Ability to work alone or as a member of a team with other tradespersons An interest in keeping up with new technologies Working Conditions: Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day, starting at 8am in the morning. Work week includes every other Saturday from 8:00am to 12 noon as needed. Be part of the On Call team during the peak season. Overtime hours are required during peak season (May – October). Capability of working outside for on-site customer service and inside a modern shop Employment Requirements: Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of Agricultural Equipment Technician apprenticeship, Truck and Coach or Heavy Equipment apprenticeship. A clean Driver’s Abstract is required. Own tools to perform the duties required and safety boots.
