| Linux Administrator Starz Animation is currently looking for junior to mid-level Linux resources to help provide support to our production facility. The candidate must be hard working, well organized and have a friendly attitude while dealing with internal customers, clients and outside support companies. The Linux Administrator will be part of a team with the shared responsibility of resolving daily employee workstation issues, as well as the daily monitoring and maintenance of SUSE Linux based servers and services. The candidate should be familiar with programming bash, ksh, tcsh, php and python scripting languages for software installations, monitoring, and other automated tasks. Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm (Position 1) or Monday-Friday 1:00pm-10:00pm (Position 2) Key Responsibilities: * Server and Desktop Standardization/Maintenance (OS, Applications and Application Versions) - SLES 10 servers, SUSE Linux 10.1 desktops and render nodes, Windows XP desktops * Authentication, Licensing, Monitoring, and Production Applications Services - openLDAP, NIS, FlexLM, Ganglia, MRTG, XCAT, etc. - FTP, RSYNC, Apache, SMTP, LDAP, LVM, DNS, DHCP, DFS, etc. * Script Programming for Software Installation, Monitoring, and Automated Tasks - bash, ksh, tcsh, php, python * General Administrative Responsibilities - Documentation of procedures/troubleshooting - Hardware and software inventory control Experience: * 3 years experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or equivalent courses Media/Production experience is preferred but not necessary. | |
